The Great Cat Council Part 4: Off on vacation!

“The Flying Paw?” asked Chairman Meow with a skeptical face.

Treasurer Scratch stood proudly next to the small, rickety airplane that he had purchased with his share of the big wool ball auction. “The Flying Paw,” he announced. “I thought we could go to Cat-tastic Island for vacation. I’ve heard there are sandy beaches, endless supplies of catnip, and the most delicious seafood a cat could ask for.”

Chairman Meow raised a skeptical eyebrow. “Are you sure this thing is safe? It looks like it could fall apart at any moment.”

“Of course it’s safe,” Scratch replied, giving the airplane a loving pat. “I checked it out thoroughly.”

Professor Furball rolled his eyes. “I’m sure you checked it out with your usual thoroughness, which means you probably just gave it a quick glance and hoped for the best.”

“Hey, I resent that,” Scratch huffed, puffing out his chest. “I’m not reckless. The Flying Paw is in top-notch condition.”

“Well, I guess we’ll have to trust your judgement,” Chairman Meow said with a sigh. “But if we all end up plummeting to our deaths, I’m blaming you, Scratch.”

The cats all climbed into the small airplane. A sense of excitement and nervousness filled the air. Scratch sat in the pilot’s seat and gave the old engine a gentle pat before…
